energetic survey of four decades of songs

I saw a Stevie Wonder concert in London at the time he was breaking out of the Motown pop straitjacket and taking off in a new exciting direction with his Talking Book album. The crowd booed and kept shouting out: “Sing Cherie Amour!”

"The crowd will vary: there's stuff for older audiences like the Stereophonics and Paul Weller, as well as pop acts like David Guetta and Florence."
Belsonic at Custom House Square in the city centre will also feature veteran Welsh rockers Stereophonics.
They formed the basis for his concerts at the Enmore Theatre, but really this was a majestic, swaggering and energetic survey of four decades of songs - and you could gauge by the audience’s reaction which decades meant most to them.
Four four decades British “Modfather” Paul Weller has been changing not only his own direction but sucking a lot of young bands into his gravitational pull.
